Keeping your bike running at its optimum performance level requires regular maintenance. The brake systems, drive train and bearing points require lubrication and adjustment. A well maintained bicycle is safer, more enjoyable and more energy efficient to ride, than a bicycle that has not been maintained.
The experienced Mechanics at Ipswich Cycles, are trained to repair and service all types of bikes. Our standard service detailed below represents great value in bringing your bike back to its best.
Standard Service:
MTB/Road/BMX Stunt & Dirt Jump - $55 (excluding parts)
Kids/BMX - $45 (excluding parts)
Our Service Includes:
- Brakes front and rear: check, lube and adjust
- Derailleurs front and rear: check, lube and adjust
- Wheels front and rear: Adjust bearings and spoke tension
- Check tyre pressure: Inspect condition of tyres
- Cables: check for wear and corrosion
- Headset adjust
- Bottom bracket adjust
- Cranks and pedals – tighten
- Brakes: lube front and rear pivots
- Safety inspection
- Check parts for wear and advise
- Wipe down Bike
- Clean drivetrain
- Inspect Chain, Rear Cluster, Chain Rings & lube Chain.
A $10 surcharge applies to bikes that require cleaning before maintenance can be undertaken.
Should there be any additional problems with your bike that need addressing then you will be contacted prior to any parts being replaced or work being undertaken. No additional work will be performed without your approval. Service charge is for labour only.
For same day service bookings are essential, otherwise drop in with your bike and discuss your repair and maintainence requirements with our friendly staff.
Major Service
$150 excluding parts
Complete disassembly, degrease and clean down of all components. Re-assembly using high quality lubricants. Includes:
- Front and Rear Hubs
- Bottom Brackets
- Headset
- Gear Drivetrains – Chainrings, Chain
- Gear Cables - Grease & Retention
- Brake Cables - Grease & Retention
- Wheels Trued
- Brake Adjust & Alignment
- Alignment Check & Adjust of Handlebar and Levers
- Inspect parts for Wear and Report
- Safety Inspection
The Major Service is recommended every twelve months for cyclists who use their bikes regularly - or for bikes which have not been serviced for a long time. This service is a complete overhaul of your bicycle and the bicycles’ components. It involves the disassembly of the bike to a bare frame and reassembly using new lubricants and bearings where necessary. No parts are replaced without prior approval.

- Head Set Service - $35 + Parts
- Fit Brake - $20 each + Parts
- Bike Packaging (inc. cardboard bike box) - $55 (includes minor disassembly)

- Fitting of Wheel Bearings and Axle - $20
- Computer Programming and Fitting - $20 (only on in-store computers)
